Ralph Figlow, Jr. has been a horseshoer for over 30 years, and has spent almost 40 years racing and training stardardbred racehorses. He has raced or shod horses in almost all the states where stardardbreds are found, and has had blacksmith shops at four different tracks. The highlight of his career was a stint at the Meadowlands in the mid-80's where he shod many top horses of the day and a few world champions. What's foremost though is the trust he has built up with other horseman by acting upright and demanding of himself a high quality of work, which was helped immensely by being exposed to top trainers and other shoers who shared with him their knowledge- a gift he is thankful for every day.

Lately, a big passion has been doing more metalwork. What started out as an outlet for some creativity by making gifts for family and friends has now blossomed into much more with the hope that it will allow him to spend more time with his family. Although he does a variety of metal work, the big passion is the "Follow Me Cross," a unique crucifix he obtained copyright for in 2004. It not only speaks of his outlook and approach to life's obstacles, but also a statement of his belief and the realities of the message he strongly believes. At the top of the list though is family. His wife Teresa and he have been together for over 28 years, and the pride of his life are his two sons, Charles and Ed. He has a wonderful support system of friends and family and counts his blessings for all.
